Health Trainers
Health Trainers are individuals who promote healthy living. They motivate those who are looking for ways to change to a more healthy lifestyle, and signpost them to preventative and other health services.
Most Health Trainers are employed by the NHS and work within the formal healthcare system.
Great Health Trainers are volunteers who work within their own communities. As such, they commit to the health training role as and when they can by supporting people within their communities and at events and other health and fitness initiatives. Great Health Trainers do not provide health education and give advice. Rather, their role is to relate to people seeking change and to work with them to develop strategies that help, referring them to existing resources for health education.
The role will be fully supported by local NHS Health Trainers and by Great2Run, part of the Great Run Group. It's a great opportunity to be part of the new Great Activity Campaign.
We are currently recruiting in the following areas:
- Tyne and Wear - 3 places
- Greater Manchester - 2 places
- Sheffield - 1 place
- Leeds - 1 place
- London - 2 places
- Portsmouth - 1 place
